Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Housing Choice Voucher program (formerly known as Section 8) provides rental assistance to low income individuals and families, who select their own rentals from homes, mobile homes and apartments on the private market in El Dorado County. The family pays approximately 30% of their income in rent to the landlord, and the Housing Authority pays the rest, up to a certain limit, directly to the landlord. Eligibility is determined by family size and income. Applicants are selected without reference to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability or handicap.

The County of El Dorado Housing Authority Choice Voucher Waiting List is currently closed. This Waiting List was last opened in 2016. Please check back periodically for information on future waiting lists.
