Patrol
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has two Patrol teams, operating out of the Placerville Public Safety Facility and the South Lake Tahoe office. The Placerville Patrol team consists of Patrol Deputies, Resident Deputies, School Resource Officers, the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT), K9 and the Field Training Program. These teams collaborate to provide exceptional service to El Dorado County. Deputies attend local community events to engage with residents and understand their primary concerns.
The Patrol Division typically serves as the first responder for all calls for service, ranging from fraud and property crimes to violent crimes in progress. They work closely with other specialty units, such as Detectives and Narcotics, as well as collateral assignments such as Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Search and Rescue, and Office of Emergency services (OES) to ensure community safety.
