Proposed Ordinance Adoption

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of a proposed ordinance amending Title 130 (Zoning) of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code. These updates are designed to implement the County’s Interim Objective Design Standards (IODS) and Interim Design Standards and Guidelines (IDSG).

Key Proposed Amendments

  • Update Design Guidelines: Replace references to the Missouri Flat Road Corridor Design Guidelines and other community design guides with the IODS and IDSG.
  • Mixed-Use Projects: Require Design Review Permits for mixed-use projects in Community Regions that deviate from the County’s Mixed-Use Design Manual.
  • Streamlined CEQA Processes: Clarify four processes and CEQA review requirements related to interim design standards.
  • Future Permanent Standards: Designate future permanent Design Standards as discretionary projects under CEQA while making Design Review Permit projects compliant with them ministerial.

If adopted, the ordinance will take effect 30 days following the hearing.
