The Well Dorado website is designed to improve the health of El Dorado County communities by providing accessible, data, local resources, and information. It aims to support collaboration, help users understand public health indicators, set goals, and evaluate progress. It is funded by the Public Health Division of the Health and Human Services Agency.

Community Health Assessment

Published in 2023, the community health assessment includes El Dorado County primary and secondary data collected and analyzed. The data was used to help guide, develop and inform our community health improvement plan (CHIP).

A community health improvement process involves looking beyond the performance of individual organizations to understand how the activities of many contribute to community health improvement. The Public Health Division of El Dorado County is working on implementing our Community Health Improvement Plan that will use evidence-based strategies to improve public health.

California Healthy Places Index (HPI)

HPI includes diverse non-medical economic, social, political, and environmental factors that influence physical and cognitive function, behavior, and disease. Indicator data used for the HPI comes from publicly available sources and is available at a variety of different geographies.
