(Placerville, CA) - The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency, Public Health Division is conducting no cost community flu vaccination clinics during the months of September through November 2024. Seasonal influenza vaccine will be administered in flu shot form only.

“Vaccination is an important step for everyone in preventing the flu. It can be lifesaving for those who might be considered at increased or high-risk from illness, such as seniors, pregnant persons, children and anyone with chronic medical conditions,” said Dr. Matthew Minson, El Dorado County Public Health Officer.

In addition to the flu vaccine, the County will offer the trivalent recombinant Flu vaccine (recommended for people ages 65 and older). The County is also hoping to offer the updated COVID-19 vaccine at no cost when available for those who qualify. “According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), both the flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine can be given at the same time,” said Minson.
