If you believe that the market value of your property is less than its assessed value, you may request an informal review by following the steps below:

How to Request an Informal Review:

  1. Access Your Parcel Information:

    • Visit our Property Lookup Tool to find your property details.
    • Enter your Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) or property address in the search field and select your parcel from the results.
    • Click the Go button to access your parcel's Property Information page.

  2. Submit an Informal Review Request:

    • On your parcel’s information page, you will find a link labeled "Online Request Form Informal Review Form".
    • Click the link to access the online request form.

  3. Complete the Online Form:

    • Fill out the required fields in the form, including your opinion of your property’s market value.
    • Provide supporting information and complete the comparable sales fields that fulfill the criteria outlined below:
      In order to be acceptable comparable sales, properties must have been advertised on Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and sold through a real estate agent between October 1 prior to the lien date (January 1) and March 31 after the lien date. Comparable properties must be similar to your property in respect to age, size, quality, lot size/acreage, and location.
  4. Submit Your Request:

    • After completing the form, click the Submit button.
    • You will have the opportunity to print or save the form.

What Happens Next?

  • Review Process:
    • Your request will be reviewed by our appraisal staff.
  • Decision Notification:
    • If your request results in a lower assessed value, the new value will be enrolled.
    • If your request is denied, a denial letter will be mailed to you.
